RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING A REORGANIZATION OF CERTAIN POSITIONS IN THE PROSECUTING ATTORNEY'S OFFICE
RESOLUTION #03-321
WHEREAS, as part of the Prosecutor's 2003 four percent budget reduction, half of a full-time Warrant Clerk position (PRSATY040) was planned to be left open for all of 2003; and
WHEREAS, in the 2004 budget, the Prosecutor agreed to hold half of the position open for all of 2004; and
WHEREAS, the Prosecutor has agreed to additional hiring delays in 2004 that will save $165,467; and
WHEREAS, currently, a part-time Clerk (PRSATY063) is filled by an existing employee and the full-time Warrant Clerk position is vacant, and it was planned that the Warrant Clerk position be filled on a part-time basis, with the other 0.50 FTE to be held vacant through the end of 2004, leaving 0.50 FTE of these authorized 1.5 FTEs vacant through 2004; and
WHEREAS, the Prosecutor proposes to reorganize these two positions for the remainder of 2003 and all of 2004 as part of a plan to reach the 2004 reduction target, for a budget savings of $13,501.
THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED, that the Warrant Clerk position be filled on a 3/4 time basis by the existing employee currently holding the Clerk position, with the remaining 0.25 FTE left vacant through 2004, and that the part-time Clerk position will be held open through 2004, leaving 0.75 FTE of these authorized 1.5 FTEs vacant through 2004.
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that the clerk receives all contractual benefits retroactive to September 10, 2003.
BE IF FURTHER RESOLVED, that, unless otherwise authorized in the 2005 Budget or by resolution of the Board of Commissioners, the organization of these two positions will revert to the previous status as of January 1, 2005.
